Why I Became a Plant Mom
Plants. You see them all over Instagram, and sure..they’re trendy and look really pretty, BUT did you know they bring tons of benefits to your apartment/home. They not only bring life to your living space, they also help to clean the air and keep your space clean & detoxified.
When adding plants to your home, my motto is ‘the more the merrier’. Personally, I think you can never have enough plants. Even when I feel like I might be overdoing it...my OG plant loving friend Kayla, always teaches me that there is no such thing as too many plants.
So, let’s talk about some common house plants and the benefits they bring.
Remember - it’s important to take your time in choosing what’s best for you. Some plants, while they might be aesthetically pleasing...might be in need of more light or space than you can provide for them. In this case, you’ll wind up spending your time and money to bring this little guy home and be super sad when he dies because it wasn’t the right environment.
Here are the list of some of my favorite, easy to care for plants:
Tropical Plants
- Peace Lily
- Rubber Plant
Air Plants
- Spanish Moss
- Trillandsia Tricolor
- Tillandsia Myosura
Cacti & Succulents
- Saguaro
- String of Bananas
- Aloe Vera
- Mammillaria
**Pro Tip - Every once in a while, take a damp paper towel and dust off your plants leaves to keep the plant able to breathe, grow & glow!! Also, I like to keep a spray bottle near by to give all of my plants a misting on days that I am not watering them, especially the air plants + tropical plants.
