Body & Belly Care for Pregnancy
I absolutely loved creating long self care routines during my pregnancy. I made sure to make time for taking care of my body a priority and it became such a special way to bond with my belly. It also helped me gain a deeper love and relationship with my body. I don’t think I ever really carved out time like that to put on lotions with no rush, dry brush before every shower or be diligent about this kind of a routine. I have tried my best to keep this routine in my schedule (of course things are different now with an infant running around and time is sparse) but having that baseline in the back of my head reminds me to take even a minute or two to get in touch with my body every day.
I used these lotions and oils for the entire 9 months, rotating between them all. This is also when I incorporated dry brushing before every shower to help drain the lymphatic system and gua sha on my face and body for toning and tightening purposes!
Summer Fridays - Babymoon Belly Balm
This one is like a mix between an oil and an ointment cream. It was my favorite for super dewey skin and deep deep hydration. It’s awesome to use overnight or before your maternity shoot for a glistening look to make the belly really pop!
Nemah - Revitalizing Stretch mark cream
This one is your classic lotion texture. It feels so good on your body and is perfect to use at anytime of day. This one was great when I was jumping out of a shower and quick on time. I love the size of the bottle as well, it made it super easy to travel with and have on the go!
They also have scar cream and nipple cream that you can purchase together in a pack!
Kopari - Ultra Restore Body Butter
This one is a super luxurious texture that I absolutely love. It feels so high end for a great price point and is extra thick for intense hydration on the skin + pairing that with the hyaluronic acid, it’s a fave. Sometimes when I was having a really great self care night I would put this lotion on and pair it with the Hatch Belly Oil on top to lock in the moisture!
This one is a classic body oil. I personally love putting it on top of my lotion to get the most out of everything. It’s definitely a higher price point but besides the aesthetically pleasing look on your counter, it’s an oil that I think is worth it!
PS Hatch has a belly mask that I used the week before giving birth, it’s such a fun gift for a soon to be mama! -
Everyone needs a good exfoliator in their routine. This one really gets in deep so I only used a few times a week or when my skin was feeling extra dry. A body scrub is the perfect way to get rid of any dry, dead skin and make it go from dull to full of life. Plus, it’s a great base before putting on lotion or oil!
Wildling - Auara Sweeper Dry Brush
Designed to help stimulate lymph flow, boost circulation, and energize the skin. Dry brushing assists in stimulating the circulatory system and resurfacing the skin, which feels buttery soft and supple as a result. A daily brushing ritual helps reduce the appearance of rippled skin by bringing blood flow and qi to the area regularly! I used this before every shower.
Wildling - Aura Stone Body Gua Sha
This helps to tighten, tone, sculpt, smooth the skin. It also stimulates energy flow, releases tension, and smooths connective tissue in dimpled areas. I used this a few times a week!
